If you’re like most of us, you probably have experienced a time in your life where you felt stuck. You ask yourself questions like: What am I doing with my life? Is there more to this? What do I want to do with my life? Who am I? How did I get here?
Feeling stuck in life is completely normal. It really is. And it’s a natural part of life.
But what is important here – is what you choose to do about it. We all have choices. We can choose to remain stuck – to tirelessly ask the above questions over and over again with no resolve. Or – we can decide to do something about.
When you feel stuck – take it as a sign that something in your life is out of balance.
Often, we get stuck when we think we should be something we’re not. We get stuck when we think life should be different.
The more you should on yourself – the more stuck you become. It’s like quicksand. The more you struggle – the more you sink.
Like Maya Angelou said – “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”

1. Mix Up Your Routine
You could be feeling stuck because of your daily routine. Don’t get me wrong – routines are beneficial – but they can also limit progress in your life.
So, change it up! Change up your morning routine. Mix up when you exercise. Surround yourself with people you don’t see on a regular basis. Get a bit uncomfortable.
Breaking out of the ordinary allows us to step away from things that hold us back.
2. Be Honest With Yourself
Many of us – have no idea why we feel so stuck. But many of us – also know that the answer to getting unstuck is deep within.
If we want to break free from being stuck – it’s imperative we be honest with ourselves – even if it hurts.
What we may likely discover is the answer we seek. It may take time and effort to discover your inner-wisdom – but you have heard it before – the answer you seek is within.
3. Ask for the Power of Perception
When we feel stuck – we mostly likely are viewing our situation with foggy lenses. When we feel stuck – our feelings, thoughts and actions get clouded with this overwhelming and consuming feeling.
Muster up the strength to stop walking the path you are on and try something new. Try on a different perspective for a moment – see what it reveals. You might be surprised!
4. Avoid the Blame Game
It’s so easy to place blame on others – for almost anything. It’s hard to accept where you are as you are.
Sure, blaming others may temporarily create a sense of peace – but it isn’t the solution to feeling stuck.
Even if you’re feeling stuck due to some external resource – you have the power to dig within and take back control of your life.
5. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
This is a tough one. And a common thing many of us do. We naturally compare ourselves to others and it’s not productive – especially when we feel stuck.
You are uniquely you. Sure, it’s been said: There is no one else in the world like you.
It is true, you know.
But in the comparison game – I urge you to throw in the towel. There is no battle to fight. Your life’s worth is not based upon other people’s accomplishments.
6. Stop Making Excuses
Excuses hold us back in life. They keep us stuck. Pure and simple.
Rather than expending your energy on the things that keep you stuck in life – focus on what you can do about it!
You’ve heard it before and you’ll hear it again: The only one that is holding you back is YOU!
